Levi Wardell

Levi J. Wardell has been a photographer for almost 10 years and is currently studying photography at The New York Institute of Photography . Levi enjoys applying what he has learned with assignments ranging from local newspapers to political party events. Assignments have taken him from the streets of midtown Manhattan to some of Europe’s most amazing cities. Originally from Seattle, Levi moved to the Washington D.C. area with his wife and small son in 1998. During these years, his work was prominently displayed on his apartment walls and a few Christmas cards. That changed when he was approached by a Washington D.C. business to outfit their new office with prints of the city. Since then, Levi’s work has been seen in office settings, marketing documents, and most recently on display at the Mark Whistler Gallery in Baltimore, MD. Levi’s specialty has become black and white architecture, still life, and landscape images. He was quoted once stating “you can almost touch the emotion being portrayed in a quality black and white photo. They carry a romantic mystique often lost in the array of color used today.”Foremost Levi regards himself as a Photographer, not of anything specific but simply of that which has come to visually inspire and stimulate him on his journey through Life.

Mark HartelMarkus Hartel got into photography as a kid, but when he moved to New York City in 2003, Hartel instantly became inspired by the energy of the urban jungle and started photographing strangers in the streets. Markus’ forte is candid, up-close street photography. Depicting his subjects mostly in black and white, you’ll find him cruising the streets of New York City with his camera’s strap wrapped securely around his wrist, ready for action at any moment. If you walk by him, you probably won’t notice him as he frames, presses the shutter and casually turns to pan one more.
